Located in the former Nab Gate pub, and with a few remaining familiar reminders of its former life in some of the decor, this is a very popular venue. The food is excellent and not over-priced. There is an online takeaway menu but this seems to be devoid of many of the main courses such as the variety of steaks. Worth a visit but given how busy it can get I would advise booking.

121 Lee Gate, Harwood, Bolton. Tel: 01204 305536. Fish and chips, and Chinese food to take-away. The best chips and curry sauce in England. Open Monday to Saturday till late.
Red Bridge Tavern
2 Bury Old Road, Ainsworth, Bolton, Lancashire, BL2 5PJ. Tel: 01204 521969. Traditional pub with excellent home-cooked food (not a chain). Food served between 12:00 - 3:00 and 5:00 - 8.30 on weekdays, 12:00 - 3:00 and 5:00 - 9.30 on Fridays and 12:00 - 9.30 on Saturdays. Sunday lunches are served between 12:00 and 8:00
